Day 1:
Sault Ste. Marie, MI
Arrive in the afternoon at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, home of the Soo Locks. Sunset Dinner Cruise and Boat Tour. Enjoy a delicious buffet dinner on a cruise of the St. Mary’s River, combined with an exciting tour through the Soo Locks. Overnight accommodations in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
Day 2:
Lighthouse/Museum/Tahquamenon/Mackinac Island
Board motorcoach and travel west to explore the land of Hiawatha. You will travel the scenic shoreline road to Brimley, Michigan and view the point Iroquois Lighthouse. Next stop at the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum and Lighthouse at Whitefish Point. You will enter the underwater world of Great Lakes Shipwrecks and see the various artifacts, learn of the perils that Great Lakes sailors have endured. A short drive brings you to Tahquamenon Falls, the 2nd largest waterfall east of the Mississippi River. Lunch is included here in the Upper Tahquamenon State Park. After lunch, walk through a virgin pine forest filled with birds and wildlife, view the beautiful amber-colored falls. Take ferry to Mackinac Island. Check in at your historic hotel on the island. Dinner included.
Day 3:
Mackinac Island
On Mackinac Island there are no automobiles, only horse and carriage, bicycles, and horseback riding. You'll first get acquainted with the Island on a carriage tour, and stop at historic Fort Mackinac. After this, enjoy the magnificent luncheon buffet at the Grand Hotel. The rest of the afternoon enjoy additional sightseeing on the Island, fudge sampling and shopping. Dinner tonight at a local favorite.
Day 4:
Mackinac Island/Departure
After breakfast return by ferry to Mackinaw City. Stroll the shops at Mackinaw Crossings and have lunch here. Depart for home.
